Regio Sahara is nu onderdeel van het land. Ook de gegevens over het aantal inwoners en de oppervlakte zijn gewijzigd. De oppervlakte is veranderd van 446.550 naar 710.850 km2. Het aantal inwoners blijft 37.697.009 zoals in de volkstelling van 2021. De wijzigingen komen een dag na de toespraak op 28 oktober van Emmanuel Macron in het parlement waarin hij de steun van Frankrijk uitsprak aan het autonomieplan voor de regio.
